Puppy Training

Puppy Training at Woofs n Scruffs.
Woofs n Scruffs specialises in helping you train your puppy. After all, a well-trained puppy is a happy puppy and training is an important part of ownership. In order to help you and your puppy meet all of your training needs, we provide highly skilled and experienced staff. Our class sizes are limited, so you and your puppy can receive hands-on (and paws-on) training. Most importantly, our trainers avoid the use of any kind of harmful techniques, like choke chains, yanking on the lead, shouting or aggression.

So......... whats included.

Puppy training is suitable for any vaccinated puppy between the ages of 12 weeks and 8 months (dogs over 8 months see Junior/Adult Foundation). During the course we focus on a number of areas including:

• Respond to Name
• Real Life Skills
• Walking with loose lead
• Recall
• Social Skills
• Food Manners
• Canine Enrichment
• The Drop Command
• Health Checking
• Off Lead Play
• Basic Puppy Positions
• Building On Stay
• Settle In Busy Environments
• Focus

Our courses lay the foundation of you and your puppy's training, so you can build on it as they grow. Providing basic training before your dog starts to mature is important as it helps build positive relationships, teaches life skills, increases socialisation, helps avoid bad behaviour and helps your dog to become a loyal companion.

How long does it last.....

Our Puppy Foundation training costs £90.00 for the whole course. The course is 6 weeks long and runs for 1 hour on the same day at the same time each week. Puppies can attend training with us 1 week after they have received their second set of vaccination. Kennel cough is not an essential vaccination to attend training, but we do recommend it is received.
