Bronze....

The Bronze award is the first step after foundation training is completed. The course is designed to ensure your dog is able to complete a range of activities. By the end of the training your dog should walk and behave in a controlled manner on the lead, complete a stay on command in the same position, allow the owner to clean, groom and undertake a health check. The dog also needs to be able to complete a recall activity. You will also gain basic knowledge and an understanding of training your dog.

During the course, we will go through the following kennel club areas:

• Cleanliness and Identification
• Collar, Lead and Equipment
• Walk on Lead
• Control at Door/Gate
• Controlled Walk Amongst People And Dogs
• Stay on Lead for One Minute
• Grooming
• Examination of the Dog
• Return to Handler
• Responsibility and Care

Silver....

The Silver Award is the second level of training and develops what was learned in the Bronze Award but with a greater level of difficulty. There is also the introduction of some new exercises such as control in a vehicle, road walking and controlled greetings these are all things which will be important to you day to day. Once you have reached this level of training you should have gained a good knowledge and understanding of training your dog.

During the course, we will go through the following kennel club areas:

• Play with the Dog
• Road Walk
• Rejoin handler
• Stay in One Place for Two Minutes
• Vehicle Control
• Come away from Distractions
• Controlled Greeting
• Food Manners
• Examination of the Dog
• Responsibility and Care

Gold....

The Gold Award is the highest level of The Kennel Club Good Citizens Dog Scheme. It develops on skills learnt during the Bronze and Silver awards as well as adding additional techniques such as sending your dog to bed, stopping your dog and relaxed isolation. The Gold Award aims to provide handlers with a greater knowledge and understanding of their dog.

• Walk Free Beside Handler
• Stay Down in one Place
• Send the Dog to Bed
• Stop the Dog
• Relaxed Isolation
• Food Manners
• Examination of the Dog
